Bamana is an e-commerce shop: a public storefront and an admin back office. The live shop is Leobotics. I joined as a senior contract engineer and helped take the product from greenfield to production in five months.

I mentored junior engineers on the team. We used LLMs to help meet that five-month deadline.

What I did

  • Built the shop in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL: data model, catalog, order fulfillment, and the admin back office.
  • Covered the app with RSpec unit and integration tests, OAuth, Redis caching, and RabbitMQ for event-driven work.
  • Added retrieval-augmented generation in the shop from January 2025, plus metrics, tracing, and a design system.
  • Shipped retries and idempotency, translation for multiple languages, and incremental migrations with tests, observability, and operational ownership.
  • Ran Agile delivery on Trello, with CI/CD and deployment on AWS and GCP.
